Wholesale Supplier Directories for 2026: Where to Actually Find and Vet Suppliers
A directory-of-directories: the legitimate platforms sellers actually use to find wholesale suppliers in the US, UK, Canada, China, and India, plus a real verification checklist. No invented "verified supplier" database β just the real tools and how to vet what you find on them.
This Is a Directory of Directories, Not a Supplier Database
Devlip does not operate an independently verified supplier database, and we are skeptical of anyone who claims to without disclosing how every single listing was checked. What we can do honestly is point you to the real platforms experienced sellers actually use, and give you a concrete process for vetting whatever you find on them. A listing on any of these platforms is a starting point for research, never a substitute for your own verification.
International & Manufacturing-Direct Sourcing
- **Alibaba** (alibaba.com) β the largest B2B marketplace for manufacturer-direct sourcing, mostly China-based factories. Supports Trade Assurance (payment protection) and verified supplier badges, but "Verified" on Alibaba means Alibaba checked the business license exists, not that the factory's quality or ethics meet your standard. - **Global Sources** (globalsources.com) β a longer-established B2B platform, historically stronger for electronics and hardware categories, with in-person trade show ties (Hong Kong/Canton Fair). - **IndiaMART** (indiamart.com) β the dominant B2B directory for Indian manufacturers and exporters, useful for textiles, handicrafts, leather goods, and general merchandise sourced from India.
US & North America Wholesale
- **Faire** (faire.com) β a wholesale marketplace connecting independent retailers with (mostly US/Canada/EU-based) brands; strong for home goods, gift, and boutique retail categories, with net-60 terms and free returns on first orders from many brands. - **SaleHoo** (salehoo.com) β a paid subscription wholesale/dropship supplier directory, popular with smaller sellers; it is a curated list, not a guarantee every listed supplier is currently active or a good fit. - **Wholesale Central** (wholesalecentral.com) β a free-to-browse US wholesale supplier directory covering a wide range of categories, structured more like a classified listings board than a vetted marketplace. - **Thomasnet** (thomasnet.com) β a long-running US industrial and manufacturing directory, strongest for sourcing components, raw materials, and custom manufacturing rather than finished consumer products.
UK & Europe
- **UK Wholesale Point / Wholesale Deals** style directories and trade-only sections of **Faire** and **Alibaba** remain the most commonly used starting points for UK-based sellers; always confirm UK import/VAT obligations separately (see our [E-Commerce Tax & Compliance guide](/guides/ultimate-guide-ecommerce-tax-compliance)).
A Real Supplier Verification Checklist
Before you wire a deposit to any supplier found on the platforms above:
1. **Confirm the business actually exists.** Ask for a business registration/license number and cross-check it against the relevant national registry where one is publicly searchable. 2. **Order a paid sample first.** Never commit to a full MOQ run before a physical sample has arrived and been inspected. 3. **Video call the factory or warehouse if the order size justifies it.** A supplier unwilling to do a short video call on a meaningful order is a red flag. 4. **Check for a secondary/backup supplier before you depend on one.** Single-supplier dependency is one of the most common causes of a mid-season stockout. 5. **Use our [Supplier Quote Comparison tool](/tools/supplier-quote-comparison)** to compare real quotations on true landed cost (unit price + freight + duty + fees), not just quoted unit price β a cheaper unit price with slower, costlier logistics can land more expensive overall. 6. **Run the final decision through our [Product Validation Checklist](/tools/product-validation-checklist)** before committing inventory capital, covering demand, competition, margin, sourcing, and compliance risk together.
None of the platforms above pay Devlip for inclusion here, and none of this constitutes a recommendation that any specific supplier you find on them is legitimate β that part is on your own due diligence.
